理念

Our Commitment

　東京聖書学院は、｢真理の言葉を正しく教え、恥じるところのない練達した働き人」(テモテ第二の手紙2章15節）を世に送り出す使命に立って、創設されました。その名称からも明らかなように、聖書学院は、聖書すなわち「真理の言葉」の学びを土台とした伝道者の養成に力を注いでいます。この姿勢は、神学の研鑽をおろそかにするものではありませんが､神学的知識を優先するいわゆる神学者の養成を主目的にしてはいません。従って､伝道者としての召命経験を入学に際して、最も重要なこととして問い、在学中も常にその確立のために神のみ前で吟味されます。

　伝道者としての召命を受けて聖書学院で学ぶ者の生活は、修養生活として位置付けられます。従って学生は､神学生ではなく修養生と呼ぱれ全寮制を原則としています。修養の目的は､｢恥じるところのない｣伝道者として知的にも霊的にもととのえられることにあります。具体的には、日々の学課や伝道の実践を積み上げることによって練達した働き人になることです。すなわち卒業後に、み言葉の説教と牧会の務めを通して､失われた人を正確な「救い」と「聖化」の体験へと導き、またその人が肉体的、精神的、社会的な癒しの恵みに生きられるように養い、さらにキリストの再臨を待ち望みつつ、キリストのからだである教会を建て上げるためにととのえる働きができるようになることです。

Our calling at Tokyo Biblical Seminary (TBS) Is to send out men and women into the world who are not ashamed and who correctly handle the word of truth (ⅡTim 2:15). We are committed to the study of the "Word of Truth," the Bible, as the foundation for the training of the Lord's ministers. We provide theological study but our priority is not to create theo logians. On the contrary, TBS prepares and trains enrolling students who have been called to the ministry. In seminary, they will constantly examine that calling before the Lord,

Students undergo rigorous training in a disciplined life. They arc not referred to as seminarians but as "shuyosei" or ministers in training, and dormitory life is a fundamental part of this training. The goal of the shuyosei is to be equipped mentally and spiritually so he or she is not ashamed. Through academic study and practical ministry, each shuyosei becomes "as one approved." After graduation, through the preaching of the Word and pastorinb, TBS graduates lead the lost to experience salvation and sanctification, and encourage them to live in the grace of His healing physically, emotionally and socially. TBS graduates also build up the body of Christ, the church, as they anticipate Christ's return.
